In 1851 Yūhei published a book about horticultural methods entitled Senkaōden. It was republished in 1893 with the title Sōmoku Hoiku Senbatsuhō. Twelve pages of flower pictures included in these books are shown here. Click on a picture to enlarge it. Yūhei drew the shapes of flowers accurately but he colored them only in shades of gray.
